FIGHTING SLAVERY THROUGH THE WEB

Anti-Slavery is launching its new website - www.antislavery.org -- TODAY!

Created by design consultants Visible Edge and website developers Grapevine Internet Limited, the site's striking appearance reflects the forceful nature of the subject matter. Regularly up-dated, it is easy to navigate providing an accessible source for users new to the Internet as well as to regular surfers.

'Most people don't realise that there are more than 20 million people world-wide in slavery today - the Internet is a vital means by which to communicate this fact, and enables people to become involved in the fight to eliminate this shocking violation of human rights,' Mike Dottridge, Director of Anti-Slavery International, said.

The Home Page is divided into four categories guiding the user through the subject of slavery today: About Anti-Slavery introduces the organisation; News provides coverage of slavery issues around the world and will be updated every week; Campaigns provides browsers and activists with an effective way to join the fight against slavery; Resources offers a view of our library, educational resources, historical archives; and the searchable Archive contains indexed past news releases and United Nations Submissions.

Key features include:

  • A layered format allowing the choice of browsing or discovering the issues at a deeper level.
  • All pages are easy to print
  • Comprehensive search engine
  • Easy navigation through the issues of contemporary slavery
  • The site uses a secure server that ensures safe financial transactions enabling joining, donations, and purchases online with ease and security.
