glasgow fundraises for freedom!
March 25 2016, the International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade, offers the opportunity to honour and remember those who suffered and died at the hands of the brutal slavery system. It also raises awareness about the dangers of racism, discrimination and modern day slavery.
To commemorate this day and to coincide with Good Friday, we invited our committed supporters and groups to raise funds this March in remembrance of the victims of slavery and support the fight against modern slavery!
Find out more about the importance of the day and our call to action in our recent blog post
Our Glasgow Group
led the way with an evening of vegan food, capoeira and talks from the civil rights demonstrator and Revered Dr Iain Whyte, the historian Dr Stephen Mullen and our Glasgow group leader Laura Wood.
The event had a great attendance and we hope it will inspire many to action. Glasgow supporters: please get in touch with our Glasgow Group
to find out how you can get involved.
