
We are delighted to announce that Helen Moulinos has been appointed as Anti-Slavery International’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Helen is an inquisitive and values-led Chief Executive, Board Trustee, and Campaigner, driven by a passion for delivering sustainable change, promoting excellent governance, and collaborating to promote a fairer society for all.
She has a long-standing track record of community activism and social justice and brings extensive leadership experience to the role. Helen was most recently the Interim CEO at the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust, and at NAM Aidsmap. She has previously led the independent human rights advocacy charity POhWER as its Chief Executive and held change leadership roles with Marie Curie, Stonewall, Age UK, Alzheimer’s Society, and the Children’s Society in the last decade.
In 2022, she took a leading role as a campaigner to protect the Human Rights Act with a coalition of human rights and social justice leaders in the UK.
As a prominent guest columnist and seasoned media spokesperson, Helen frequently raises awareness about civil liberties, democracy, social mobility, and equality.
Her past experiences include her work in the private sector for organisations such as Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, and HSBC in early. Her call to community activism started in 1990 in New York City, and she counts herself a committed veteran activist of 34 years advocating for change and upholding human rights. She has also served as a voluntary Board Trustee for over 17 years in the UK, including her current Trustee role with the Global Legal Action Network. Helen previously was Vice-Chair of Amnesty International UK and Board Trustee with The Civil Liberties Trust.
Helen’s passion is to empower people to live independent lives and to persuade powerful institutions to drive societal change. Helen shares the following:

I look forward to working alongside this extraordinary team and Board to support survivors as agents for change, to deepen our work with dedicated partners and to influence powerful actors that a world without slavery is not only possible but necessary.It’s a really challenging time for charities right now, and I’m looking forward to supporting Anti-Slavery International to strengthen in the face of challenges and geo-political uncertainty.”
Helen holds a bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University and a master’s in finance from the City University of New York. She is currently pursuing a second master’s in international affairs at King’s College London.
In her spare time, she enjoys yin yoga, travelling, and learning to garden in North London.
