Our Impact
Our impact in 2023
Watch our video showing the positive changes your support helped achieve last year.
Together we’ve been leading change, working tirelessly with our partners to resist modern slavery and restore freedom. Your support has elevated the voices of those with lived experiences of modern slavery, amplifying their stories and empowering them to be agents of change.
In 2023, we advocated in the EU to introduce two new laws which will compel corporations to put people and the planet before profit. In Ghana and Tanzania, you helped us continue to support child domestic workers, with 100 children completing vocational training, and at least 50 children securing safer, better-paid jobs. Alongside our partners in Mauritania and Niger your support helped people to establish new lives in freedom after being born into slavery, including education, training and income generating activities. We continued our work in Turkmenistan and the Uyghur Region, raising awareness of horrific persecution and human rights abuses, and continuing the Cotton Campaign to end state-imposed forced labour in Turkmenistan.
Your support has allowed us to continue our research with partners into the links between climate change and modern slavery, bringing this issue onto the global stage at this critical time. In the UK, you’ve helped us to campaign against hostile government rhetoric, joining with us in showing solidarity with survivors of modern slavery.
