BBC RADIO 4 APPEAL
Donate now to double your impact for women like Tahya
Our BBC Radio 4 Appeal, presented by ITV’s Lucy Watson, shares the powerful story of Tahya – a woman born into slavery in Mauritania who found freedom with support from Anti-Slavery International.
Right now, a generous supporter will match every pound donated up to a total of £50,000. That means your gift today will be doubled, helping even more women escape slavery and rebuild their lives.

Tahya’s story of courage and change
For nearly forty years, Tahya* lived under the control of one family and was forced to work from dawn to dusk. With the help of our local partner, she escaped, was reunited with her children, and began a new life in freedom.
Today, she lives in her own home, her daughter goes to school, and she helps other women understand their rights through a survivor network.
Your gift can bring freedom and a future to more women like Tahya.
How you can double your impact:

Presented by journalist and broadcaster Lucy Watson
“Tahya’s story is one of quiet courage and determination. She’s built a life of freedom and safety for herself and her children – something everyone deserves. I’m proud to support Anti-Slavery International as they help more people find that same freedom.” Lucy Watson
You can still listen to the appeal on BBC Sounds, and if you’d like to support the appeal, please return to this page to donate, as it’s no longer possible to donate via the BBC website.
